KARACHI: Lady health workers staged a protest outside the Karachi Press Club, according to the media on Wednesday.
Police shelled the protesters with tear gas and baton-charged the lady health workers, who were on their way to the Governor House over delay in their salaries and demand for regularization.
The lady health workers said they were protesting peacefully.
Five lady workers were arrested and several injured. The injured have been shifted to the hospital.
The protest is the latest in a series by lady health workers for permanent jobs.
They were protesting outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Wednesday.
