KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where two ships carrying containers and chemical were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engor Vopak Terminal on Monday, 13th January 2012, a port's statement said.
Meanwhile one more ships scheduled to load-offload containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 35 percent at the Port on Tuesday where total number of four ship MSC Lara, Florida II, STX Daisy and MV. Golden Ambrosia is currently occupying berths to load and unload cement, urea and chemical respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo volume of 63,137 tonnes, including 46,142 tonnes imports and 16,995 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2569 containers (Boxes) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
M.V Golden Ambrosia sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning while MSC Clara has to sail later Tuesday, the statement added.
