The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has allowed Senator Haji Ghulam Ali to contest FPCCI's presidential election tomorrow (Friday) at Federation House, Karachi. BMP spokesman Ahmad Jawad told Business Recorder, here on Wednesday. He said BMP has been vindicated and justice has been done as the court suspended the order of Director General Trade Organization (DGTO) and allowed Haji Ghulam Ali to contest the FPCCI 2018 elections.
He said this decision proved that how BMP's opponent group UBG has been misleading the FPCCI voters and business community for past three days by showing them a false and fabricated justifications. He also negated the UBG's claim that their candidate for Vice President from Punjab has been elected unopposed. He clarified that Islamabad High Court had dismissed the petition filed by other party and stated it's without merit.
"In this regard Sheikh Bashart Nadeem nominated from the Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce is BMP's Vice President Candidate for Punjab Chamber Class in the upcoming election and his name would be included in the candidates' final list, he added.
Jawad claimed that all the chambers of commerce in Balochistan, KP and majority of trade associations as well as some chambers of Punjab and Sindh have reposed full confidence in the policies of the Businessmen Panel by supporting its candidates for the slot of President, Senior Vice President and Vice Presidents of FPCCI) to be held tomorrow (Friday)
He said under the vision of our Chairman Mian Anjum Nisar, BMP has fielded strong candidates enjoying the highest degree of integrity, coupled with spirit of devotion and service for the promotion of trade in the country. He said our nationwide campaign has entered into final stage and we plan a special meeting of all voters and supporters in Karachi at Avari Towers on December 28 (today), to show BMP's strength.
He said support of the maximum chambers in the country shows that they are disappointed over the performance of the UBG including the FPCCI incumbent president who had faced NAB references since assuming charge of his office which was against the integrity of the Federation.
Jawad also alleged that there had been no good governance in the federation's affairs during past three years, as all affairs were managed by its UBG's Patron in Chief S M Muneer who treated President's office as a post office; besides the R&D department remained dysfunctional.
He said the BMP leadership has worked hard and it would restore the respect of business community in front of the government and solve most of their problems and demands after wining the election. BMP spokesperson said a close working relationship between the government and the business community would not only solve issues faced by trade and industry, but also would an instrument for economic revival.
