Spot basis bids for hard red winter (HRW) wheat were unchanged in the southern US Plains on Friday and inactive leading into the Christmas holiday weekend, dealers said. The Chicago Board of Trade's K.C. March HRW wheat futures contract at 10:53 am CST (1653 GMT) were down 2-1/4 cents at $4.22 per bushel on profit-taking following recent market gains.
