Chairman Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr Muhammad Tahir Ul Qadri has claimed that the main opposition leaders have assured him of their participation in all parties conference on 28th December, but he wants to include other opposition parties in next course of action against the PML-N government so that all decisions are taken by consensus and not by one individual.
He said time to seek justice for the PAT workers killed and injured in June 2014 police action at Model Town has arrived. Dr Qadri chaired an emergency meeting of PAT core committee held here on Friday. In the meeting 31 December Deadline announced for CM Shahbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah to step down. APC coordination with allies, and Model Town Incident came under discussion.
He claimed opposition leaders have assured their participation in APC. Briefing his lawyers he said that "Home Secretary has refused to provide attested copies of JITs of Mode Town incident due pressure of Shahbaz Sharif; he helplessly advised us to contact courts; other officers are also under pressure. Those who can't provide copies, how would they ensure justice for victims?" he added.
According to a PAT press release, Advocates Azhar Siddique, Muhammad Nasir, Sardar Ghazanfer and Najamuddin briefed Dr Tahir Qadri about Model Town Incident and attitude of Home Secretary. At this Dr Qadri said it is our demand that all those nominated in Model Town Incident, must be removed from their posts.
As long as they are occupying offices, fair investigation and trial are not possible. It is liability of prosecution to sit with victims, not with killers. He said someday they (involved in police action) have to step down and facts are to come to light; many are ready to utter the truth.
He said Sharifs' announcement of movement against judiciary is treason against the State; Bar and Bench must take notice of this declaration of war by Sharifs as both are custodian of Judiciary. He said Sharifs on 17 June 2014 crushed human dignity, and then attacked Khatam-e-Nabuwat Laws, later targeted national security institution through news leaks, now Sharif Family is after Judiciary.
About resolution in General Assembly regarding status of Jerusalem he said General Assembly has rejected with overwhelming majority US decision which is indication of Global Opinion, now America must respect democratic norms and reconsider her decision to avoid further confrontation.
