Under the directions of CM Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, as many as seven special Christmas bazaars have been opened in Faisalabad district in order to provide essential commodities to the Christian community on subsidized rates for the celebrations of Christmas.
Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani paid visit to the special Christmas bazaars at Christian Town Eidgah road, Pinto Ground Warispura and other areas. CPO Athar Ismail and Deputy Secretary Home Department Punjab Shahzada Khurram accompanied with him during the visit. ADCR Muhammad Shahid, AC City Ahmar Sohail Kaifi, CO MCF Zubair Nut, Lala Robin Daniel and large number of people from Christian community were also present on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner took a round of special Christmas bazaars and inspected the quality and prices of essential commodities. He interacted with the consumers and enquired from them about the benefits and arrangements of Christmas bazaars. He visited the stalls of vegetables, fruits, sugar, ghee and grocery items and directed the management of bazaars for uninterrupted supply of the essential items. He also checked the record of sale of subsidized flour and told that 10 kg bag of flour is being sold at Rs 250.
He said that strict security arrangements, vehicle parking, traffic management, cleanliness and necessary arrangements were made to make these bazaars a success. He said that special instructions had been issued to the relevant departments to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities.
