The Karachi Port handled 146,159 tonnes of cargo comprising 88,645 tonnes of import cargo and 57,514 tonnes of export cargo including 5,936 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 88,645 tonnes comprised of 22,334 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,833 tonnes of general cargo; 21,321 tonnes of bulk cargo: 7,498 tonnes of coal; 7,554 tonnes of soyabean meal; 6,269 tonnes of fertilizer and 40,157 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 57,514 tonnes comprised of 48,790 tonnes of containerised cargo; 224 tonnes of general cargo and 8,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,936 containers comprising of 1,671 containers import and 4,265 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 504 of 20's and 535 of 40's loaded while 01 of 20's and 48 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,370 of 20's and 422 of 40's loaded containers while 507 of 20's and 772 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were eleven ships namely Hyundai Brave, KMTC Mumbai, Hansa Neuburg, Kota Layar, Intrepid Republic, Malhari, Xing Rong Hai, Ten Yoshi Maru, Bao Success, SL Teal and Ocean Hero carrying containers, chemical, DAP, coal, steel, tug and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. Hansa Neuburg, MOL Endowment, Ginga Puma, Malhari, Liberty Pride, SL Teal, Ocean Hero and Yangtze Ambition carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical, vehicle, tug and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There were two ships namely Talassa and Liberty Pride carrying containers and vehicle respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while another ship namely UACC Ibn Al Haitham carrying mogas is expected to sail on Saturday.
There were seven vessels Talassa, CMA CGM Figaro, Cali, BW Lithium, MT Shalamar, FS Diligence and N Mars carrying containers, oil tankers and mogas respectively due to arrive on Friday, while five vessels viz. Prosper, Songa Calabria, Virgo, DL Violet and Zi Jing Song carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 100,626 tonnes comprising 90,336 tonnes of import cargo and 10,290 tonnes of export cargo including 1,159 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 90,336 tonnes includes 41,834 tonnes of furnace oil; 4,485 tonnes of palm oil; 5,749 tonnes of clinker; 24,219 tonnes of coal and 14,049 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 10,290 tonnes includes 10,290 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 1,159 containers comprising of 669 containers import and 490 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There were two ships namely CV CMA CGM Maupassant and MT Al Jassasiya carrying containers and LNG respectively sailed out to sea on Friday morning.
A total number of nine vessels were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, clinker, canola seeds, coal, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as eleven ships namely CV Prosper, CV GH Chinook, CV Tucape, MV Zi Jing Song, MV Bao Success, MV Adafera, MV Aptalots, MV Kirri Billi, MV GH Rough Habit, MT Maria-III and MT Sloman Hestia carrying containers, general cargo, condenset, canola, coal, LPG and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV Prosper, CV GH Chinook and CV Tucape carrying containers respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal respectively on Friday. There were three ships namely CV Prosper, CV GH Chinook and CV Tucape carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Friday.
