The outgoing Turkish ambassador in Pakistan, Sadeq Baber Girgin, paid farewell visit to the ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, in Islamabad on Friday. JI parliamentary leader in the National Assembly, Sahibzada Tariqulah, JI Foreign affairs chief Abdul Ghaffar Aziz and JI Islamabad chief Zubair Farooq Khan and Asif Luqman Qazi were also present on the occasion.
The JI chief commended the services of the outgoing Turkish envoy and prayed for his success in his assignments ahead. He expressed the hope that the outgoing ambassador would prove to be the Pakistan ambassador in his own country, said a press release. He said that Turkey and Pakistan had a glorious history of close, fraternal ties and the friendship between two countries had stood the test of time.
Sirajul Haq said that the Turkish President Recep Teyyep Erdogan has emerged as a great leader of the Muslim Ummah as he had adopted commendable stance on all important issues including that of Baitul Maqadas, Kashmir, Palestine, Syria and Bangladesh. He said that the emergent summit of the OIC was the need of the hour after US President Trump's announcement about the Baitul Maqadas and Turkish President Erdogan has truly represented the Ummah's sentiments by calling for the summit.
The JI chief said that the Baitul Maqadas was not the issue of any individual, nation or the state, it was the voice of the all justice loving people. Masjid-e-Aqsa was the first Qibla of the Muslims where the Holy Prophet (PBUH) had lead all the prophets of Allah in the prayer and the Ummah could not allow its handing over to the enemy.
The outgoing Turkish envoy thanked the JI chief, the JI workers and the Pakistani nation and said that his stay in the county had been memorable which he could never forget. He said that Turkey and Pakistan were like two souls in a single body. The JI chief gifted a beautiful cap to the Turkish diplomat.-PR
