Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq has denied the PTI chief's allegation that a deal was reached between PM L-N and PPP. "PPP's support in Punjab has come down from thousands to hundreds in each constituency. Despite this factual position, if the PPP remains in the field, it will certainly negatively affect the PTI," Saad Rafiq said talking to the media here Sunday.
However, Imran wanted a direct contest with the PML-N in the coming elections, he said.
To a question, the minister said there is nothing wrong in meeting between Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Imran Khan. He said General Bajwa is Pakistan army chief while Imran Khan is leader of a major political party.
In a lighter vein, Saad Rafiq remarked that usually Imran Khan makes insensible statements but this time he made a sensible statement about his meeting with the Army chief.
Regarding demand by the PTI leadership for his resignation after Railways accidents, Kh Saad Rafiq said some people do politics on dead bodies. He said every one can see improvement in Pakistan Railways.
About KPK Chief Minister criticism of Railways for not giving land for the Metro Bus track in Peshawar, he said he had explained to Khattak that the area would be used for doubling railway track since it is part of CPEC.
To another question, he said the PPP leaders should not at least talk of corruption. He said Inspector General Police of the reputation AD Khawaja does not suit the PPP.
