The Karachi Port handled 164,199 tonnes of cargo comprising 130,838 tonnes of import cargo and 33,361 tonnes of export cargo including 9,702 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 130,838 tonnes comprised of 82,050 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,362 tonnes of general cargo; 7,882 tonnes of bulk cargo and 37,544 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,361 tonnes comprised of 22,461 tonnes of containerised cargo, 7,200 tonnes of general cargo and 3,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 9,702 containers comprising of 5,423 containers import and 4,279 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1,891 of 20's and 1,756 of 40's loaded while 20 of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 397 of 20's and 275 of 40's loaded containers while 1,026 of 20's and 1,153 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were six ships namely MOL Experience, Al Dasma, Al Mahboobah, Selin-D, Africa Star and Eastern Light carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were ten vessels viz. Cosco Boston, Newark, MT Lahore, Chemway Lara, Formosa Falcon, Rui Dong, Seto Gloria, River Eternity, Izumo and Yuan Hai carrying containers, oil tankers, soyabean meal, mogas and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There are two ships namely Cosco Boston and MT Lahore carrying containers and oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Wednesday.
There were two vessels viz. Pacific Beryl and UASC Shams carrying oil tanker and mogas respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while three vessels viz. Kota Kasturi, MSC Krittika and Pacific Trust carrying containers and urea respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 126,584 tonnes comprising 104,316 tonnes of import cargo and 22,268 tonnes of export cargo including 3,964 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 104,316 tonnes includes 5,850 tonnes of palm oil; 16,000 tonnes of LNG; 6,291 tonnes of chemical; 22,444 tonnes of coal; 684 tonnes of project cargo and 53,048 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 22,268 tonnes includes 22,268 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,964 containers comprising of 2,792 containers import and 1,172 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There was one ship namely MV Erika Schulte carrying chemical sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely CV Al Kharj and MT UMM Bab carrying containers and LNG are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV Al Kharj, CV MSC Silvana, MV IVS Windsor, MV Jambo Javelin, MV Erika Schulte, MT Nordic Gas, MT UMM Bab and MT Bunga Akasa currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, coal, chemical, LPG, LNG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eleven ships namely CV Maersk Memphis, MV Chance, MV Gas Chem Antarctic, MV YM Miranda, MT Maria-III, MT Ardmore Sealion, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Karachi, MT Pacific Energy, MT Harmony-1 and MT Straum carrying containers, canola seeds, chemical, LPG, Mao gas, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were two vessels viz. CV Maersk Memphis and MV YM Miranda carrying containers and chemical expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There were three ships namely CV Maersk Innoshima, CV CMA CGM Corneille and CV Maersk Memphis carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday. There is one ship namely CV MSC Mykonos carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
