Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday said that the country did not succeed in counter terrorism efforts because of non-implementation of National Action Plan (NAP). "If NAP had been implemented, the country would not have been facing the present blasts," the PPP young chairman said while talking to media persons here after inaugurating the Sir Aga Khan Jhirk Mulla Katiar Bridge. He was accompanied by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.
He said the first line of defence against terrorism is province's history, culture, Sufism and education. Bilawal said the PPP was waiting Supreme Court verdict in Panama case and after that he and his father Asif Ali Zardari would decide about going to the parliament. He said they are preparing for the next elections and focussing on reorganisation of the party in this connection. He, however, opined, "If we see history, we do not expect that the decision would go against Sharifs."
Replying to a question, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Irfanullah Marwat just had a meeting with Asif Ali Zardari and no decision was taken about his joining the PPP. He said the PPP is a democratic party and welcomes criticism and suggestions from all sides.
About difficulties being faced by the people of interior Singh for going to major cities for treatment, the PPP chairman said people across the country are facing multiple problems and they want to provide relief to the masses and for this purpose the PPP is focussing on infrastructure development. He congratulated the CM Sindh for completion of the bridge and said they want all round development in the province. He said the PPP launched the historic Benazir Income Support programme for the uplift of the poor.
