The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) has started working on compilation of recommendations for amnesty scheme to bring the hidden money into the main stream economy. The recommendations which are being prepared at the FPCCI Research and Development Cell would be finalised in a week, said FPCCI President Abdul Rauf Alam.
The FPCCI former president Mian Muhammad Adrees in a meeting with the Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif on the occasion of 40th annual export awards ceremony had given the proposal of amnesty scheme to accelerate the economic growth through production and utilization of hidden liquid assets.
Responding to the proposal, the Prime Minister asked the FPCCI to submit its feasible recommendations and assured that these would be implemented in real spirit. FPCCI President Abdul Rauf Alam said that the Federation's Research and Development Cell is preparing recommendations for amnesty scheme. He said the scheme will not protect the corrupt practices rather it will bring the hidden money into main stream of economy so that it could be utilised for providing funds.
He said the country needs funds for the growth of economy to develop infrastructure and provide employment opportunities at large scale. He said the scheme is aimed at arresting the capital flight from Pakistan that is being observed for the last several years. Not only the Pakistani residents but also the non-residents are investing in the Middle East, far eastern countries, Western Europe and off-shore Island in Southern Pacific.
