All Pakistan Customs Agents Association (APCAA) hosted a dinner reception to honor UBG nominated candidates for FPCCI election 2017 at Karachi Press Club on the other day. Speaking at the ceremony, senior vice chairman APCAA Arshad Jamal said: "Our support with UBG was unconditional as we were confident that the whole team of UBG would come into power and would give their best to meet the challenges."
He said "APCAA was a part of UBG and we wanted to serve the trade through the platform of FPCCI. APCAA teams across the country are ready to accept the challenges for the crystal and corruption-free tax system and its research system is also working on entire process of taxation and with the help of elected UBG team, he hoped to provide best technical service to the trade."
Senator Haseeb Khan said Zubair Tufail and his team was capable to meet the challenges and would increase the prestige of the FPCCI. He said amnesty scheme with the efforts of SM Muneer would be announced in couple of day and hoped to have new investments for CPEC after amnesty scheme.
Gulzar Feroze, spokesman UBG said that out of total 40 cases established by their opponent, 38 cases had been disposed off in their favour and hoped that remaining cases would meet the same fate. He also lauded the efforts of APCAA for showing its support with UBG. Khurram Ijaz, President Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) said customs clearing agents were supporting UBG in FPCCI election 2017 and termed UBG members as true representatives of the business fraternity.
Khalid Tawab, Senior Vice President, FPCCI, said the embargo imposed by the Peshawar High Court on SM Muneer would be lifted during next hearing on December 21, 2016. He said Zubair Tufail was the right choice as he proved himself as most suitable candidate for the slot of FPCCI president and assured UBG support to the APCAA in resolving their issues at all forums.
He further said that customs agents were the important part of the trade and lauded the efforts of customs agents for providing services to the trade in difficult time with improper system. He hoped that UBG nominated presidential candidate for FPCCI 2017 election Zubair Tufail would create a better working relations between FPCCI and customs agents as APCAA was now a part of UBG and had an important role in Federation. Zubair Tufail thanked UBG leadership especially SM Muneer, Main Iftikhar and others for showing their faith in him and his team, saying he and his team would do all efforts to meet the challenges being faced by the business community of the country.
