The Karachi Port handled 300,417 tonnes of cargo comprising 227,879 tonnes of import cargo and 72,538 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 227,879 tonnes comprised of 55,470 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,413 tonnes of general cargo; 82,637 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 71,700 tonnes of coal; 10,023 tonnes of DAP; 914 tonnes of sunflower seeds and 88,359 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 72,538 tonnes comprised of 58,246 tonnes of containerised cargo; 70 tonnes of general cargo; 9,922 tonnes of iron powder and 4,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. There were twelve ships namely Xin Zhang Zhou, Al Farahidi, UAFL Zanzibar, Batam Trader, Wan Hai-506, Chemroad Queen, Maersk Kaya, MT Quetta, Alpine Meadow, Smart Sail, Chang Hang Fu and Chipol Huang He carrying containers, oil tankers, bulk cargo and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. Batam Trader, MSC Chiara, Bomar Rissen, Maritime Dinar, Tian E Zuo and Leo Ocean carrying containers, oil tankers and coal respectively currently at the berths. There were five ships namely MSC Chiara, Hyundai Brave, Newark, Maritime Dinar and Ikan Senyur carrying containers, oil tanker and coal respectively sailed out to sea on Monday while another ship namely Northern Genius carrying containers is expected to sail on Tuesday.
There were two vessels Northern Dependant and White Coral carrying containers and steel respectively due to arrive on Monday while two vessels viz. Willet and Itami carrying carbon black and steel respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 84,391 tonnes includes 27,810 tonnes of furnace oil; 6,000 tonnes of palm oil; 8,606 tonnes of chemical; 662 tonnes of LPG; 32,000 tonnes of LNG; 269 tonnes of project cargo and 9,044 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 21,318 tonnes includes 21,318 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,598 containers comprising of 1,122 containers import and 476 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were five ships namely CV Newark, CV Nicoline Maersk, MV Thorco Vital, MT Ginga Marlin and MT Star Ploeg carrying containers, project cargo and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two ships namely MT Elan Vital and MT Al-Kharaitayat carrying diesel oil and LNG respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Newark, CV Nicoline Maersk, MV Thorco Atlantic, MV Chintana Naree, MV Atlantic Glory, MT Star Ploeg, MT Elan Vital, MT Al-Kharaitayat and MT Black Pearl currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, chemical, palm oil, LNG and LPG respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as twelve ships namely CV MSC Elina, CV Al-Manama, CV MSC Estal, MV Thorco Legion, MT Globe Tanya, MT Eco Glaxy, MT Gemini Gas, MT Nave Rigel, MT Harmony, MT Pvt Athend, MT Rise Fortune and MT Lion-M carrying containers, project cargo, LPG, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Elina, CV Al-Manama, MV Thorco Legion, MT Gemini Gas and MT Rise Fortune carrying containers, project cargo, LPG and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday. There was one ship namely Al Dasma carrying diesel oil due to arrive on Monday. There is one ship namely MV Imari carrying project cargo due to arrive on Tuesday.
