Chandelier installation at Mazar-e-Quaid: Chinese experts receive shields
The team of Chinese engineers and other officials, who participated in the installation of new Chandelier at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, were awarded shields on Monday. Senator Nehal Hashmi, the General Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh presented the shields at a ceremony organised by the Mazar-e-Quaid Management Board, at Mazar-e-Quaid.
Speaking on the occasion, Nehal Hashmi hailed strengthening Pak-China co-operation in every field, and said the close friendship between the two countries has become stronger with time. This Rs 220 million worth chandelier has been gifted by the Chinese government. The old chandelier that too was gifted by China in 1970 had aged. The team of Chinese experts completed the installation of the chandelier ahead of the schedule. The new chandelier weighs around 1.2 metric tones, and it includes about 8.3kg of solid 24 carat gold.
