Deputy Director FIA Peshawar Imran Shahid and Zafar Ali Khan have elected as Chairman and President KP Badminton Association respectively for the next four-year term during an election meeting held here at local hotel on Sunday.
President KP Snooker Association Zulfiqar Butt and Secretary Pakistan Table Tennis Federation Kifayat Ullah Orakzai as nominees of the Pakistan Olympic Association and Sikander Shah as nominee of the Directorate of Sports KP attended the election meeting as observes.
District representative from Swabi Ismail Khan presented a penal in the house which was unanimously elected with the following office-bearers. Besides Imran Shahid (Peshawar) and Zafar Ali Khan (Swat) as Chairman and President, the other office-bearers comprising Elahi Bkhsha Mati (SVP), Muhammad Amjad Khan (Secretary General), Shah Hussain (Batagram), Ismail Khan (Swabi), Abdul Malik (Bannu), Abdus Salam (Peshawar), Engr. Aman (Buner), Sultan Khan (Lakki Marwat), Bushra (Swabi) (Vice Presidents), Nawaz Khan (Dir Upper), Shafahat (Tank), Umair Shah (Kohat), Saira Nawaz (Chitral) as (Associate Secretaries). Mian Sadaqat Shah (Treasurer), Asim Sheraz (PRO).
The members executive council comprising Hussain (Chitral), Yahya Khan (Swat), Tariq Khan (Nowshera), Shahid Khan (Lakki Marwat), Sardar Zaib (Shangla), Amin Ul Haq Jadoon (Abbottabad), Sami Khan (Dera Ismail Khan), Shakeel (Peshawar), Said Akbar (Malakand), Hayat Ullah (Peshawar), Aysha (Swabi), Muhammad Tasawar (Peshawar).
Speaking on this occasion, newly elected Chairman Imran Shahid thanked the house for reposing confidence in him. He assured the house that he would do his best for the promotion of badminton in KP.
He also announced that KP Badminton Championship would be organized from December 19-22, 2016 while National Junior Badminton Championship will be organized in November 2017. He also announced that National Junior Camp would be organized in Abbottabad in March next year along with a coaching and umpiring clinics.
