Despite heavy deployment of security personnel in federal capital last week, robbers, burglars and thieves struck at eight places, stole seven vehicles including bikes and a major of the Pakistan Army was shot dead by unknown gunmen. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, the city's various police stations registered 11 separate first information reports (FIRs) in which they nominated hundreds of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers over violation of section 144, imposed by Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration, ahead of PTI's Islamabad lockdown plan.
Out of 11 FIRs, Bhara Kahu Police Station registered six cases, Sabzi Mandi two, Koral, Shehzad Town and Golra police stations registered one case each under section 144 against PTI workers. Three unknown gunmen shot dead Major Zeeshan Naseem inside his residence at sector I-8/4 in the limits of Industrial Area police station and escaped the scene.
The most favourite areas for robbers and auto theft gangs were within the limits of Aabapara, Golra, Khanna and Shehzad Town police stations during the last week. During the last week Goral police station registered one case each of kidnapping, auto theft and Cheque dishonoring.
Shams-ur-Rehman lodged a complaint with Goral Sharif police station that the accused Faisal Shehzad, Sher Khan and Mansoor Khan kidnapped his sister-in-law. Auto theft stole a car bearing registration number AZ-2016 of Muhammad Iqbal. Aabpara Police Station registered one case each of motor vehicle theft and robbery last week. Auto theft stole a bike (ABN-632) of Muhammad Iqbal.
Muhamamd Riaz of sector G-7/1 lodged a compliant with Aabpara Police Station that unknown robbers stole gold ornament, cash, prize bonds, laptop, two wrist watches and other valuables from his house. Khanna Police Station registered two cases of auto theft and one robbery case. Auto theft stole a car bearing registration number LZV-5238 of Muhamamd Khan parked in front of his house.
Muhamamd Shoaib lodged a complaint with Khanna Police Station that unknown robbers snatched cash and his motor bike (AEL-655) when he was on his way home. Shehzad Town Police Station registered one case of robbery and auto theft each. Anjum Mushtaq of Farash town lodged a complaint with Shehzad Town Police Station that unknown robbers stole cash, laptop, and three mobile phones from his house. During the last week, Koral, Shalimar, Bara Kahu and Shams Colony registered one case each of robbery while Sabzi Mandi and Sihala police stations registered one case each of motor vehicle theft.
