Dr Asim Hussain, Former Federal Minister, has done nothing wrong and is ready to face the references that the Executive Board of the National Accountability Bureau has prepared against him. "Though the allegations are baseless but he has been co-operating with the authorities to complete their investigation,' said Owais Jamal Advocate, a spokesperson for Dr Ziauddin Hospital.
"It is pertinent to note that we received first inquiry letter from NAB on 26th September 2015 to start investigation against Dr Asim Hussain and they have so far failed to produce any concrete evidence to prove any of the allegations made so far," the spokesman added. Dr Asim has been accused of money laundering and unfair distribution of natural gas quotas as the Minister Petroleum, causing a huge loss to the national exchequer, but the NAB has not proved any of that. "In fact, the current petroleum minister is on record saying that no corruption on the matter is evident from the record,"said the spokesperson.
"The complete failure of the NAB shows that Dr Asim is target of political victimization, nothing else. 'We are fighting the case and we have full confidence in our judicial system and hope that Dr Asim will soon get acquitted from these baseless charges," the spokesman added.-PR
