The rupee held the overnight levels against the dollar on the money market in the process of trading on Saturday, dealers said. The rupee did not move any side in relation to the greenback for buying and selling at Rs 105.90 and Rs 106.10 respectively, while the rupee lost 25-paisa in terms of the euro for buying and selling at Rs 117.25 and Rs 118.25 respectively, they added.
OPEN MARKET RATES: At the weekend, the yen rose sharply against the euro and dollar after yet another downbeat session for oil prices and stock markets worldwide, underscoring worries about global growth. The dollar fell overall, with the higher than-expected US inflation data for January having limited impact. Analysts said declining oil and equities took the shine out of the dollar.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee-dollar parity stayed unchanged amid sluggish trading on the local currency market on Saturday.
The dollar resumed trading at its day earlier closing of Rs 106.00 and Rs 106.20 as its buying and selling rate, respectively. The dollar did not observe any change in its demand and supply situation that helped rupee stability.
As a result, the opening rate continued to prevail till close of trading, the dealers said. However, the rupee lost 40 paisa on buying side while it remained unchanged on selling side in relation to the pound sterling.
The pound's buying rate improved from the Friday closing of Rs 151.10 to Rs 151.50 while its selling rate stayed unchanged at Rs 152.50, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained against the Pak rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Saturday.
The dollar opened at Rs 106 (buying) and Rs 106.20 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 106 (buying) and Rs 106.20 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 158 (buying) and Rs 158.50 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 158 (buying) and Rs 158.50 (selling).
