Salman Khan takes a dig at Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra’s abrupt exit from Salman Khan’s ‘Bharat’ has left everyone furious. During the launch event of ‘Bigg Boss season 12’ yesterday, Salman Khan once again took a sly dig at Priyanka Chopra for leaving his project five days before the shoot begins.

During the media interaction, Salman Khan was asked about Priyanka’s exit, to which he said, “It was sweet of her to tell us five days before the shoot that she couldn't do Bharat. I'm glad Katrina is part of the film. She was Atul's [Agnihotri, producer] first choice. But Priyanka called Ali [Abbas, director] and said she wanted to do Bharat, so we considered her”.

“She (Priyanka) had a reason to do that. It’s just that the project got stuck. Had we known earlier, we could have worked it out better. She was getting engaged and I told her, ‘if you’re getting engaged what’s the need of exiting the project?’ then she said she has to get married. Priyanka’s work was for 75-80 days, we said we will work it out but she was clear that she didn’t want to be a part of the film,” he added, Times of India reported.

‘Dabbang’ Khan also revealed that the real reason of leaving the project was not her wedding but maybe she doesn’t want to work in Bollywood film industry now. “Whatever she wants to do, I wish her all the best in life. We are glad she is engaged and happy,” he said.

‘Bharat’ is slated to release on Eid 2019.
