The Lahore High Court on Monday directed federal and Punjab governments to explain what steps being taken for implementation of National Climate Change Policy 2013, on September 4. The court while putting the hearing of a petition filed by a farmer Asghar Ali on next date of hearing observed that the climate change is now the most serious threat to Pakistan. The petitioner stated that Framework for Implementation of National Climate Change Policy, 2013 is not being implemented to counter the challenge of climate change.
