The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in the Punjab is reported to have predicted the "the sinking" of their major opponents, the Pakistan Muslim League-N and the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), claiming that their political "Titanic" is sinking and the situation in the country "will determine whether or not the government will manage to complete its constitutional reign."
In his sabre-rattling speech on Friday to a delegation of hundreds of women, led by Pakistan Muslim League-Q Women Wing Vice-President Rukhsana Mehr, who had joined the Insaf, organiser Chaudhary Mohammad Sarwar claimed, "The nation will not tolerate the government if it continues bombing the public with rising prices, joblessness and corruption. Corrupt politicians have held this country hostage. We're fully supporting the security agencies' actions against criminals and those sabotaging the peace in the country.
His speech chiefly targeted his party rivals, scathingly saying, "The League-Nawaz and the People's parties have looted the country and now raising fake slogans to bamboozling the public. However, now their political Titanic is sinking and our party is ready to lead the country towards progress and prosperity. We fully support the democracy but the prevailing circumstances will determine whether or not the incumbent government can continue. The corrupt politicians could visibly see their defeat in a fair election [in reference to the Local Bodies election] and that is why they are trying to create hurdles in the holding it."
He also claimed people were now ready to express their hatred against the governing party in the upcoming elections, and all those who wanted to raise their voices against corruption and other excesses being committed against the public were joining the party in "battalions."
