An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) extended on Monday physical remand of three suspects and handed them over to police till 13th July 2015 for their alleged involvement in Saffora bus carnage. The police produced the accused alleged master mind of attack Tahir Hussain alias Sain, Saad Aziz alias Tin Tin and Asad-ur-Rehman before the ATC judge amid tight security.
The investigation officer requested the court to extend the physical remand of all the accused as they are further required for more investigation. The court accepted the police request and extend the physical remand of all the accused till 13th July. The Judge also directed police to submit all relevant reports on the next hearing of the case.
According to the prosecution, Saad and Tahir were arrested by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) after an encounter on 20 May 2015 from Gulshan-e-Maymar. The suspects were arrested earlier but their implication in the main case was made on 13 June and since then they were in police's custody on physical remand. At least, 45 people belonging to Ismaili community were killed and others injured when unknown assailants targeted them near Safoora Goth on 13th May 2015.
