Taapsee Pannu stands in support of Indian Muslims

Taking a stand against the injustice towards Muslims in India, Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu has said it is disturbing to see a certain religion being targeted every time.

There has been a clear discrimination between Muslims and Hindus in India, especially in recent times. Muslims are often labeled as terrorists or being targeted for following their rituals.

Pannu's upcoming movie ‘Mulk’ revolves around the same scenario, in which a Muslim family gets caught in a terror plot. Speaking at the movie's trailer launch, ‘Judwaa 2’ actress said that the discrimination against the community was a big reason for her to take up the project.

When asked about the community being targeted, Pannu said, “It is very disturbing. I’ll give you an example from my own life. My manager is a Muslim; my driver and my house help are Muslims.”

“If I were to feel disturbed in their presence then I would be disturbed whole day and night because my life is run by them. It’s very disturbing to realise that a particular religion is being targeted. These people are inseparable to me. So this was a big reason for me to do the film. I thought if someone has to stand up then I would like to take that responsibility. This fear and this disturbance in my mind, I vented it all out through this film,” she said, Indian media reported.

Actor Rishi Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana and Ashrut Abhinandan Jain are also starring in pivotal roles in 'Mulk,' will release on August 3.
