Food department procures 614,587 wheat bags from Mianwali

MIANWALI: The food department has so far procured 614,587 wheat bags against the target of 627,000 bags from the district.

According to District Focal person wheat purchase campaign Zahoor Akhtar Khan, a total of six wheat purchasing centers were operation in the district where wheat was being purchased direct from growers.

He disclosed that overall 9878 farmers have also been issued gunny bags according to the approved lists of farmers after Gardawri.

He said the government instructions and SoPs were being followed in the purchasing process, added that quality and moisture of wheat was also being checked before purchasing. He hoped that hundred percent target will be achieved within few days at any cost.
