SARGODHA: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said on Wednesday the Punjab government was set to empower 2 million unemployed youth to enable them to earn their livelihood at reasonable way.
Addressing the inauguration of Langarwala bridge over River Jhelum, he said the government extended interest free loans worth Rs 40 billion to people with any discrimination.
He said the government was working extraordinarily for the well-being and betterment of students.
He said the Punjab Education Endowment Fund scholarships worth Rs 17 billion had been distributed among 3.5 million deserving, needy and brilliant students.
"If we come into power again, the Punjab government will establish state-of-the-art hospitals equipped with latest machinery in Punjab and also ensure free medical treatment" he added.
Shahbaz Sharif said the incumbent government had introduced farmers-friendly policies.
He said the government had provided subsidy on fertilizers and gave interest free loans to farmers.
He said the Punjab government had set records of development and prosperity across the Punjab, while Imran Khan did nothing for the prosperity of the masses of KPK.
