Places to visit when travelling to Baku, Azerbaijan

Many Pakistani touring and travel businesses are now offering mini vacational packages to visit Baku, Azerbaijan, which is slowly becoming a favorite spot for tourists who are looking forward to travel through the continents of Europe and Asia.

Baku resides at the ideal location along the coastline of the Caspian Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. The old medieval city is the capital and commercial hub of Azerbaijan and has a lot of old yet beautiful places that prove to be the tourist’s attraction.

For the people who love ancient heritage, the Palace of the Shirvanshahs that has a vast royal complex and the iconic stone Maiden Tower is a perfect place to visit.

The city also has some contemporary landmarks including the Zaha Hadid–designed Heydar Aliyev Center, and the Flame Towers, three pointed skyscrapers covered with LED screens.

The city also has a pilgrimage center, the beautiful reconstructed mosque, Bibi-Heybat Mosque and the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, housing a vast collection of ornate carpets from the region.

Another tourists attracting site is the Baku Museum of Modern Art that showcases the 20th-century Azerbaijani painters and sculptors. The National Museum of History of Azerbaijan is an Italian Renaissance–style mansion from 1902.
