Canon's new CanoScan 9000F Mark II scanner can turn not only text, but also slides, into data. It includes text recognition software and can turn scans directly into PDF files and encrypt them. But there's also an illumination option that allows it to process slides - up to four framed slides at a time.
The maximum resolution for these scans is 9,600 dots per inch (dpi). Texts can be scanned at up to 4,800 dpi.
