Govt to purchase 432,000-ton wheat from farmers in Gujranwala division

SIALKOT: The Punjab government has issued official wheat procurement target for Gujranwala division.

The food department would purchase 432,000 ton wheat crop directly from farmers at the wheat procurement centres set up in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din and Gujranwala districts this year. Also, PASSCO will purchase wheat from farmers in Hafizabad district.

According to senior officials, the food department would purchase 82,000 ton wheat in Sialkot district, 41,000 tons in Narowal, 28,000 tons in Gujrat, 60,000 tons in Mandi Bahaud Din and 221,000 tons wheat in Gujranwala district this year.
