Education technology startup Kollegio, founded by two former Aitchison College students, Senan Khawaja and Saeed Naeem, has raised a new round of capital, bringing its total pre-Series A funding to more than $5.3 million.

Kollegio is an AI-driven platform that connects students, schools, and colleges. It provides personalised guidance for college applications, including essay feedback.

The New York-based startup said more than 300,000 students now use its platform to navigate their education and career paths, and it is targeting 1 million users.

“When we launched Kollegio, we set out to answer a question that hits close to home for millions of families: What if every student, regardless of background or zip code, had a world- class mentor by their side throughout the college admissions journey?” said Senan Khawaja, CEO of Kollegio, in a post on a social media platform.

“Today, we’re expanding that vision to become the navigation layer for all education and career decisions. In a rapidly changing world, the right choices have never been easier to make,” he added.

The startup had previously secured $3.6 million from investors, including a $2.8 million seed round with funding from Reach Capital, JFFVentures, ECMC Group, and Tuesday Capital.

The startup is working with more than 30 college partners to “reimagine how institutions connect with the next generation, and this network is accelerating fast,” said Khawaja.

Kollegio is also working with Learning Collider on research into the effectiveness of its platform, aiming to turn “the thousands of testimonials we’ve received into quantitative research”, shared the CEO.

The latest funding comes as Kollegio prepares for its next phase of growth. The CEO shared that the company is hiring for two senior roles in New York City, including a founding designer and a head of growth.

Khawaja thanked existing investors, including Reach Capital, JFFVentures, and ECMC Group, while welcoming new investors, including Workshop Venture Partners, Alumni Ventures, Dent Capital, and AiSprouts VC, to the Kollegio family.

In December, Senan Khawaja and Saeed Naeem were recognised on the Forbes ‘30 Under 30 United States 2026’ list in the ‘education’ category.
