KARACHI: Al-Khidmat Karachi chapter and Grow Safe have signed a five-year MoU to collaborate on fire safety, disaster management, and welfare and relief initiatives for communities affected by natural and man-made disasters.
The agreement represents a purely non-profit and non-commercial collaboration, established as part of GSPL’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and the welfare organization’s humanitarian and welfare activities.
This MoU was signed by Rashid Qureshi, Executive Director Al-Khidmat Karachi, and Syed Shayan Ahmad Hashmi GM Technical HSE, Grow Safe, after prior deliberations on the current disaster and emergency response requirements and potential areas of collaboration.
Under the MoU, GSPL will extend technical support to Al-Khidmat in the areas of fire safety, disaster management, emergency preparedness and response, and relief operations. Beside technical training, the collaboration will include capacity-building activities aimed at further strengthening the said capabilities.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO Grow Safe Saad Abdul Wahab praised Al-Khidmat’s efforts in emergency and humanitarian relief, especially towards supporting the communities hit by disasters. He assured the representatives of GSPL’s full technical cooperation and support for the humanitarian cause.
Sarfaraz Sheikh, Head of Disaster Cell, Al-Khidmat Karachi, Talha Shahid, Hamdan Siddiqui, Director HR Sales & Marketing GSPL, Nasir Taimoori Assistant Manager Administration & Legal GSPL, Muzzamil Safdar HoD GSPL Academy and other representatives from both sides were also present on the occasion.
