NEW DELHI/SINGAPORE: India’s Hindustan Petroleum Corp has bought two million barrels of oil from West Africa via a tender for its 180,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery in the desert state of Rajasthan, trade sources said on Tuesday.

HPCL bought Nigeria’s Okwuibome and Utapate crude from trader Glencore for HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Ltd (HRRL), the people said. The oil will arrive in late September.

The price for the deal was not immediately clear.

The companies do not typically comment on their trades.

HPCL has a 74% stake in HRRL while the Rajasthan government owns the rest.
