The briefing informed the meeting that the Ministry of Housing and Works and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) were conducting weekly reviews to monitor progress on the Apna Ghar Scheme and resolve issues hindering its implementation.

The prime minister directed relevant authorities to accelerate work on the scheme, emphasising that providing affordable housing to ordinary citizens was among the government’s foremost priorities.

He called upon public and private sector banks to enhance financing support to ensure the successful implementation of the initiative and facilitate greater access to housing loans for deserving families.

During the meeting, the prime minister also directed authorities to formulate a comprehensive strategy for developing both vertical and horizontal housing projects under the Apna Ghar Scheme.

He stressed the importance of adopting practical and sustainable housing solutions to cater to the needs of the country’s growing population.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to providing shelter to disadvantaged and middle-income families, Prime Minister Sharif said effective coordination among all relevant institutions was essential for the timely completion and success of the programme.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Housing and Works Riaz Pirzada, Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Kayani, and senior government officials.
