ISLAMABAD: Qatari and Pakistani mediators held separate meetings with US and Iranian negotiators in Doha on Thursday, making positive progress on key issues outlined in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the understandings reached at the Lake Lucerne Summit.
Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson stated, “Parties have agreed to continue discussions over the coming period, with the next meeting to be set at the earliest possible time following the funeral processions of the former Iranian Supreme Leader.”

FO Spokesperson added that Pakistan stepped up its diplomatic engagement with key regional and international stakeholders to facilitate earnest follow-up and implementation of the Islamabad MoU by Iran and the United States, in line with the Pakistan–Qatar Joint Statement issued at Burgenstock on 21 June 2026.
In this regard, Pakistan and Qatar engaged with the relevant parties in Doha on Wednesday and held separate meetings with the US and Iranian negotiators.
