ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday directed defence counsel to conduct cross-examination of prosecution witnesses at the next hearing in a case registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders in connection with a protest against the disqualification of PTI founding chairman Imran Khan by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The ATC judge, Tahir Abbas Sipra, while hearing the case registered against PTT leaders, including Senator Faisal Javeed, former PTI leader Aamir Kiyani, and others, did not record statements of prosecution witnesses and directed them to appear before the court during the next hearing to be held on July 2.The case was registered at the Industrial Area police station related to a PTI protest at Faizabad, following Imran Khan’s disqualification by the ECP.

Meanwhile, senior lawyer Babar Awan submitted a power of attorney on behalf of accused Senator Faisal Javed.
