KARACHI: The Eye Donation Welfare Society proudly announces that its President, Yasin Joyia, has been appointed as a member of the Donor, Partner and Community Relations Committee and the Member Value Committee of the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) for a two-year term.

This distinguished appointment recognizes Joyia’s outstanding contributions to the promotion of eye donation and the facilitation of corneal transplantation in Pakistan. Among only 164 members worldwide selected to serve on EBAA committees, Joyia’s inclusion reflects his unwavering commitment to advancing the field of eye banking and restoring sight to those affected by corneal blindness.

Over the years, Joyia has played a pivotal role in strengthening eye donation awareness, fostering international partnerships, and facilitating access to corneal transplantation for countless patients across Pakistan. His efforts have significantly contributed to improving opportunities for individuals suffering from preventable corneal blindness and have helped elevate Pakistan’s presence within the global eye banking community.

Expressing his gratitude, Joyia thanked the Eye Bank Association of America for this honor and reaffirmed his dedication to promoting ethical eye donation practices, enhancing community engagement, and building stronger international collaborations aimed at expanding access to sight-restoring treatments.

“This appointment is not only a personal honour but also a recognition of Pakistan’s growing role in advancing eye donation and corneal transplantation efforts worldwide. I look forward to contributing to the mission of EBAA and working alongside distinguished professionals from around the globe,” said Mr. Joyia.

This achievement marks a proud moment for Pakistan and highlights the valuable contributions being made by Pakistani professionals and organizations in the international fight against corneal blindness.

The Eye Donation Welfare Society extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Yasin Joyia and wishes him continued success in serving the global eye banking community.
