ATTOCK: Attock Police intensified their crackdown against narcotics and illegal liquor trade, arresting five suspects in separate operations and recovering more than 5.5 kilograms of hashish along with 20 liters of liquor from their possession, police sources said on Saturday.
During a checking operation within the jurisdiction of Hazro Police Station, Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ashraf and his team recovered 1,400 grams of hashish from Sohbat Khan, a resident of Nartopa, Tehsil Hazro. In a separate action, ASI Muhammad Waseem and his team seized another 1,400 grams of hashish from Muhammad Waseem, a resident of Bahadar Khan village in Hazro.
Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Arshad Mahmood of Attock Khurd Police Station arrested Nawab Khan, a resident of Khora Khel, and recovered 1,400 grams of hashish from his possession. In another operation, ASI Sohail Akhtar of Saddar Attock Police Station recovered 1,200 grams of hashish from Muhammad Rashid Ahmad, a resident of Akbar Abad Mohalla, Shen Bagh, Attock.
In a separate raid, ASI Azhar Iqbal and his team recovered 20 liters of illicit liquor from Usman Khalil, a resident of Shen Bagh. Police arrested all five suspects and registered separate cases against them under the relevant provisions of law.
Authorities said the campaign against drug trafficking and illegal liquor trade would continue across the district to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety.
