Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday paid tribute to a civilian, Liaqat, who embraced martyrdom while foiling a suicide attack near the Khushhal Garh checkpost located on the border of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a statement, the interior minister hailed the bravery of Liaqat, a retired railway employee, for sacrificing his life to thwart the “nefarious designs” of militants.
“Liaqat set a high example of courage and bravery,” Naqvi said, adding that the civilian’s timely action helped save many innocent lives.

The minister said the martyred civilian would always be remembered as a national hero for his sacrifice and courage in the face of danger.
“Shaheed Liaqat is the hero of the nation. His sacrifice will always be remembered,” he said.
Naqvi further stated that courageous citizens like Liaqat are a source of pride for Pakistan and reflect the nation’s resilience against terrorism.
The incident occurred near the Khushhal Garh checkpost situated along the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border, where a suicide attack attempt was reportedly foiled.
