Pakistan, China sign deals on machinery, vaccines, medical tech

Pakistan and China signed on Friday a joint venture agreement and two Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) on construction machinery, animal vaccines and medical technology.

The signing was witnessed by President Asif Ali Zardari.

In a statement, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) said that an MoU was signed between Al-Hassan Trade Establishment, Sanyi International Development, and Henan Jialong International Technology.

“Trilateral cooperation will promote the supply of construction machinery and equipment related to CPEC,” the PPP said.

The arties will review nvestmeint opportunities for establishing factories in Pakistan, added the statement.

An MoU was also signed between Dr Ziauddin Hospital and Shenzhen Wei Bang Technology in the field of medical technology

“The purpose of the MoU is to promote the advanced use of medical intelligent robots in clinical medicine.”

Meanwhile, an agreement was reached on a joint project for the supply of vaccines for animal health in Pakistan, including vaccines for foot-and-mouth disease

It included a clause on future cooperation for implementing track and trace systems for animals in Pakistan.

The president left for China on April 25 on a week-long visit.

“The visit is part of the longstanding tradition of high-level exchanges between Pakistan and China and holds special significance in the context of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, being commemorated this year,” the Foreign Office stated.
