LAHORE: Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that in a few weeks of war Rs 180 billion and during the current financial year Rs 1234 billion tax was recovered from consumers in the name of levy on petrol.
He said that the government wastes no opportunity of committing ‘dacoity’ on the pockets of the masses, adding that the citizens should support the “Badal Do Nizam” movement of Jamaat-e-Islami for saving themselves from the looting and corruption.
Addressing the participants of a training workshop at Markz Islami Peshawar, he said that through hidden agreements with IPPs and LNG suppliers, a few hundred people have earned billions of rupees. He said that most of the agreements were signed in dubious manner, adding that the masses will be mobilised against these agreements and national looted money will be retrieved from the bellies of these ‘crocodiles’.
He said that these corrupt and dishonest people are included in all three previous governments who used to loot the masses. He said that this tyrant system could not work anymore.
Naeemur Rehman said that Jamaat-e-Islami will bring these looters in front of masses, adding that the production of electricity in country is 49 thousand megawatts and requirement is only 24 to 25 thousand megawatts. He said that it is sheer mismanagement that instead of having more capacity than the requirement, the government has left the masses with misery of load shedding.
He said that the government of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claiming the good governance are darkening the future of the upcoming generations. He said that 10 million children are out of school in Punjab and 5 million children are out of school in KP.
He alleged that the United States is a terrorist state which supported Israel in Gaza and enabled the killing of Muslims. Israel has been killing our children in Gaza for the past two years, yet the three ruling parties remained silent and did not condemn this, he regretted.
He claimed that after a humiliating defeat in the Iran war, Donald Trump now wants to sit at the negotiation table to cover up his embarrassment. Friendship with the United States has brought us nothing but terrorism.
