ISLAMABAD: The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association has expressed deep appreciation to the Government of Pakistan, particularly acknowledging the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar for their leadership and sustained diplomatic engagement in facilitating the recent two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States.
In a statement, APTMA Chairman Kamran Arshad said that at a critical moment of heightened regional tensions, Pakistan played a key role in advancing the truce, promoting restraint, and creating much-needed space for dialogue and de-escalation. He noted that the ceasefire arrangement followed intensive diplomatic outreach by Pakistan’s leadership and has opened the way for further talks in Islamabad.
“The APTMA believes that Pakistan’s role reflects its longstanding commitment to regional peace, stability, and dialogue. The facilitation of this ceasefire is a welcome development not only for the people directly affected by the conflict, but also for the broader international community, which has been deeply concerned about the risks of wider escalation and disruption to global trade and energy markets,” Arshad said.
The APTMA commended the government for prioritising diplomacy in the interest of peace, stating that such efforts enhance Pakistan’s standing as a responsible state committed to conflict de-escalation and constructive international engagement.
The Association expressed the hope that the ceasefire will hold and serve as a foundation for meaningful negotiations leading to a lasting resolution. It added that sustainable peace through dialogue remains essential for regional security, economic stability, and the well-being of millions across the wider region.
