FAISALABAD: A two-day International Conference on Climate Change concluded successfully at Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), bringing together leading scientists, researchers, and experts from across the globe.
The conference witnessed participation from international scholars representing countries including France, Austria, Thailand, China, Taiwan, and the Philippines, along with a large number of Pakistani researchers, academicians, and students.
Vice Chancellor GCUF, Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam, presided over the conference, which aimed to address pressing challenges posed by climate change in the fields of agriculture, industry, and healthcare, while promoting innovative research and developing a comprehensive roadmap for the future.
During the two-day event, a total of 18 technical sessions were conducted, featuring presentations by approximately 150 researchers. In addition, more than 130 posters and scientific projects were displayed. Overall, the conference attracted participation from over 500 attendees.
The conference was organized under the leadership of Prof Dr Sabir Hussain, Chairman, Department of Environmental Sciences, as the Principal Organizer, while Prof Dr Farhat Jabeen, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, served as Patron. Addressing the closing session, the Vice Chancellor emphasized that environmental science is a vast and critical field, and such international conferences open new avenues for research, contributing significantly not only to environmental studies but also to other related disciplines.
