Thailand to clamp down on oil smuggling and hoarding, PM says

BANGKOK: Thai authorities will investigate instances of oil smuggling and hoarding, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on Friday.
- Legal action will be taken to the fullest against wrongdoers, Anutin told a press conference.
- The government is accelerating a crackdown on stockpiling, price gouging and fuel smuggling to neighboring countries, Anutin said.
- These activities had contributed to recent domestic fuel shortages, Anutin said.
- Investigations have found fuel stations hoarding and smuggling along the border with Myanmar, police said at the press conference.
