KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 116,875 tonnes of cargo comprising 82,133 tonnes of import cargo and 34,742 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours, ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 82,133 tonnes comprised of 34,219 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 12,565 tonnes of B Bulk Cargo, 392 tonnes of Ammonium Sulphate, 4,758 tonnes of Canola, 3,268 tonnes of Chickpeas, 4,486 tonnes of Soya Bean Seeds & 22,445 tonnes of Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,742 tonnes comprised of 34,156 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 394 tonnes of B Bulk Cargo & 192 tonnes of Cement.
Around, 05 ships, namely, Cosco New York, Kmtc Nhava Sheva, Sydney Bridge, Glory Bridge, & Fatimah berthed at the Karachi Port Trust.
Approximately, 08 ships namely, Ibrahim Jahan, Da Qing 576, Uafl Liberty, Xin Beijing, Marine Ista, Sensho, Northern Practise, & Sea Elegant sailed from the Karachi Port Trust.
Shipping activity was report at the port where four ships, Al-Bert-P, MSC Tracy-V, Fortune Legacy and Chem Silicon carrying Container, Soya Bean Seed and Chemicals, berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on March 30th, meanwhile two more ships, Pentozali, Kassiopi GR carrying Gas oil and Coal also arrived at outer anchorage on Tuesday.
PORT QASIM
A total of eight ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them two ships, Al-Bert-P and Teacher-O left the port on Tuesday morning, while three more ships, Chem Silicon, AM Ocean Pride and MSC Tracy-V are expected to sail on Tuesday afternoon.
Cargo volume of 168,850 tones comprising 136,936 tones imports cargo and 31,914 export cargo carried in 5,240 Containers (3,507 TEUs Imports & 1,733 TEUs Export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 09 ships at Outer Anchorage of the Port Qasim, out of them two ships, Vienna Wood and Propel Wisdom & another container ship ‘Westerly’ scheduled to load/offload HSFO, Coal and Container expected to take berth at FOTCO, PIBT and QICT on Tuesday 31st March, 2026.
