ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday lashed out at Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari and Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar over their remarks about jailed former prime minister Imran Khan’s son, Kasim Khan, and the party.
In a statement, PTI accused the ministers of “smearing a child’s basic human rights” and “peddling false narratives” after Kasim Khan appealed to meet his father and raised concerns about his health at the United Nations.
“Those who cannot comprehend Kasim Khan’s straightforward English statement should have it translated into Urdu to understand its meaning,” the party said, adding that the ministers were “uneducated and unwilling to make even the slightest effort” to grasp the facts.
PTI described the government’s conduct as “shameful” and accused it of turning a son’s plea to see his father into a political spectacle.
The party reaffirmed that under Imran Khan’s leadership, Pakistan was always projected as a sovereign and dignified state internationally, with national interests prioritised at every forum.
PTI didn’t hold back, reminding the ruling PML-N that Nawaz Sharif himself had fingered Pakistan in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, a move that humiliated the country and weakened its standing on the world stage
Demanding immediate access for Imran Khan to his family and personal doctors, PTI warned that “using a son’s appeal for political point-scoring is a disgrace” and insisted that his fundamental rights be fully respected.
