KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief, Monem Zafar on Sunday described the alliance of the United States, Israel and India as a “troika of evil” targeting Muslims, warning that the war in the Middle East is being deliberately expanded while bombings continue across parts of Lebanon, Syria and Iran.

The JI Karachi Chief was speaking at an anti-US, anti-Israel public gathering and Iftar dinner organized by JI District Korangi at Tayyaba Mosque, Zaman Town, Korangi No. 4. He praised the Iranian resistance against what he called war aggressors, saying its leadership prefers martyrdom over submission to oppression and remains steadfast against tyrannical forces.

He said the United States and Israel are openly engaged in terrorism around the world, adding that such brazen conduct is rare in history. Muslims, he said, are being specifically targeted.

Turning to domestic affairs, Monem Zafar said Allah has blessed Pakistan with vast resources and that the country came into existence as an Islamic republic during the blessed month of Ramazan. He said the founding objective of Pakistan was the establishment of Allah’s system on earth, but lamented that this goal has yet to be fully achieved.

He urged Muslims to strengthen their relationship with the holy Quran, noting that the final ten days of Ramadan carry special spiritual significance, with the odd nights considered particularly blessed. He called for prayers during these nights for the security, stability and prosperity of Pakistan and for the unity and success of the Muslim Ummah.

The JI leader said Ramadan teaches patience, respect and the spirit of struggle for one’s rights. Drawing on Islamic history, he recalled the Battle of Badr, fought during Ramadan, in which 313 companions under the leadership of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) defeated a far larger army. The battle, he said, demonstrates that faith, patience and perseverance inevitably invite divine support.

On Palestine, he said the people of Gaza have sustained their resistance for more than two and a half years. Despite thousands of martyrdoms and unconditional American backing for Israel, he said, Israel has failed to break the resolve of the people of Gaza.
