KARACHI: President of the Pakistan Business Forum (Sindh Chapter) and Chief Adviser to the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, Malik Khuda Bakhsh, has congratulated Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Nihal Hashmi on his appointment as Governor of Sindh by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Malik Khuda Bakhsh said the people of Sindh, particularly those of Karachi, have complete confidence in Nihal Hashmi’s leadership, vast political experience and commitment to public service. He described Hashmi’s long-standing contributions to national development and public welfare as commendable.

He noted that Nihal Hashmi, a native of Karachi, has remained associated with the PML-N for several decades. From 1997 to 1999, he served as Adviser to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Law and Justice. In 2012, he served as President of PML-N Karachi, and in August 2014 he was appointed General Secretary of the party’s Sindh chapter. In 2015, he was elected to the Senate on a PML-N ticket from a seat allocated to Punjab.

Malik Khuda Bakhsh termed the decision to appoint Hashmi as Governor of Sindh a positive step, expressing hope that the province’s development would receive greater attention under his leadership. He said Karachi and other parts of Sindh are facing serious infrastructure challenges, and as governor, Hashmi would be in a strong position to secure federal funds to help improve the city’s infrastructure.

Malik Khuda Bakhsh expressed optimism that Nihal Hashmi’s vision and guidance would contribute to strengthening institutions and promoting public welfare across the province.
