The Sindh government has suspended SSP Keamari and several other police officers over alleged security lapses around the US Consulate on March 1, following complaints of negligence, mismanagement, and resulting financial and human losses.
The action was taken on the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Provincial Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, according to a statement issued by the Home Department.
After initial inquiries, SSP Keamari was removed from his post and suspended. The SDPO Keamari, SHOs of Docks, SITE-B, KPT, and Jackson, as well as the in-charge of the Foreign Security Cell, were also suspended.
The suspended DSP has been directed to report to the Central Police Office, while the SHOs and in-charge of the Foreign Security Cell have been ordered to report to the Police Headquarters Garden.

The government has also constituted a high-level six-member committee to conduct a transparent probe into the incident.
The committee will be headed by the Additional IG of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and will include the DIG Headquarters, DIG Special Branch Sindh, SSP Investigation CTD, and AIGs Establishment and Operations.
The committee has been tasked with submitting a detailed report based on facts within seven days.
