ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Tuesday warned that if the ban on meetings with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan persists, the party will launch a ‘full-scale’ protest movement after Eid.
Speaking to reporters during a sit-in by PTI parliamentarians outside the Supreme Court, he said the ban on meeting Khan had no legal basis and it must end, warning that the repercussions after Eid would be severe for the installed puppet regime and its handlers.
The PTI parliamentarians continued their symbolic protest outside the apex court for the second consecutive day, demanding Khan’s transfer to Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad and access to his ‘personal’ physicians in jail.
Afridi emphasised that PTI would use all legal and constitutional avenues before launching any protest movement.
Despite using all legal means, he added, PTI has been pushed to the wall and, therefore, the party has started preparing for a protest movement. “This time, we will stage a protest against the government with full force,” he added. A large number of PTI parliamentarians, including MNAs and senators, participated in the protest.
However, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Raja Nasir Abbas led the demonstration.
