ISLAMABAD: The capital city witnessed over 60 incidents of crimes including carjacking, murders, mobile phone and cash snatching as well as robberies in which citizens lost valuables worth millions of rupees during the last week.
The data collected by Business Recorder revealed that 60 incidents of crime included 32 carjacking cases, 10 mobile phone and cash snatching cases, and 16 cases of various kinds of theft including robberies.
The data says that during the last week, criminal gangs were most active within the jurisdiction of Khanna, Shalimar, Tarnol, Aabpara and Noon police stations. The 32 vehicles stolen during the last week include five cars and 30 motorbikes.
In the same period, auto thieves stole four motorbikes from the limits of Aabpara police station, four motorbikes from the jurisdiction of Tarnol police station, another four motorbikes from the jurisdiction of Khanna, three from the limits of Shalimar police station, one bike and a car stole from the jurisdiction of Koral as well as two motorbikes stolen from the limits of Karachi Company police station.
During the last week, unidentified armed persons snatched one mobile phone, auto thieves stole four motorbikes, and robbers struck at two different places in the limits of the Khanna police station. Another six cases included three cases of car lifting, two cases of robbery, and one case of murder reported to Shalimar police station during the last week.
